English Language Instructor Part-Time Position in Madrid, Spain
**Job Summary:**
Teach English to students of various ages and levels, promoting effective learning and quality teaching, while supporting the British Council's cultural relations mission.
The British Council is a global organization that supports peace and prosperity by building connections, understanding, and trust between people in the UK and countries worldwide. We work directly with individuals to help them gain skills, confidence, and connections to transform their lives and shape a better world in partnership with the UK.
**Our Teaching Center:**
We offer courses to the general public between 8 am and 10 pm, with around 100 teachers delivering approximately 46,500 class hours per year. We also partner with schools, kindergartens, and corporate clients, including government ministries, banks, and higher educational institutions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English language teaching tailored to different customer groups and individual learning styles
Monitor and assess progress, providing regular feedback to help manage students' performance and promote learner autonomy
Complete teaching-related administrative tasks, such as class registers and record-keeping, to specified standards
Ensure safeguarding and guidelines are applied and upheld in line with standards and policy for child protection, equality, diversity, and inclusion, and health and safety
**Requirements:**
Undergraduate degree (in any discipline)
Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL
1 year post-certificate experience (CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL)
Experience in teaching relevant age groups, including early years, primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary
**Benefits:**
Salary: Euro 12,015.00 - 13,918.20 gross annually (depending on working hours and education)
Offsite travel allowance
