Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced English teacher to join our team at the British Council in Madrid. As an English teacher, you will be responsible for teaching English to students of varying ages and levels, promoting quality teaching and effective learning, and supporting the wider aims of the British Council.

About the Role:

  • Teach English to students of different ages and levels, adapting lesson materials to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor and assess progress, providing regular feedback and promoting learner autonomy.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and level testing, to specified standards.
  • Ensure safeguarding and guidelines are applied and upheld in line with standards and policy.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree (in any discipline)
  • Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL (desirable)
  • Recognised Diploma in English as a foreign language (e.g. DELTA or Trinity Diploma)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education or Bachelor of Education in primary or secondary teaching
  • Teaching experience: 1 year post-certification experience, specifically in teaching relevant age groups

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: Euro 12,918.20 gross annually (dependent on working hours and education)

Additional Information:

  • Part-time contract (15.5 hours a week)
  • EU nationals or those with the right to work in Spain
  • Working schedule: weekday lunchtime, afternoon, and evening classes, and Saturday morning and afternoon classes
