OCA Global is a private equity group with its headquarters in Spain, dedicated to inspection, certification, testing, consulting, and training activities.
The Consulting and Technical Advisory division of OCA Global provides interdisciplinary technical advisory services to support and assist public administrations, banks, investment funds, project developers, industrial, and service companies in their transition to a better society and economy that are climate change resilient, sustainable, and decarbonized.
We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer or Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The candidate will report to the Operations Manager of the Consulting and Engineering Division of OCA Global.
Main Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform all tasks related to Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering expertise, including conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering development for Power Plants (especially solar PV/CSP, wind, hydro, PtX, Battery Storage (BESS), and other renewable technologies).
- Provide technical support in all project phases: project development, engineering design/review, construction, and commissioning, as part of the owners' engineer and technical advisory team.
- Engineering review, including technical revision and approval of the main project design engineering documentation (Owner's Engineering).
- Technical Due Diligence and Lender Technical Advisor reports, technology evaluation, Operation & Maintenance, etc.
- Technical support to the business development team.
Work location:
OCA Global offices in Spain in Madrid (preferably), Barcelona, or Sevilla. The main work will be developed office-based, but some short travel may be requested, on a project-by-project case, to project sites or clients' offices in Europe and worldwide (mainly Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, and Pacific) as the activity of the Business Unit is global.
Education Requirements:
MSC in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. MSC in Renewable Energy would be favorably considered.
Professional Experience:
Minimum 5 years' experience in similar positions. Experience in EMEA and LATAM regions are a valuable factor.
Languages:
English and Spanish: Native or full professional proficiency. French and/or Arabic would be favorably considered.
Other Personal Competencies:
Efficient communication, meeting organization, and reporting. Proactivity and flexibility. Results and clients' need-oriented. Efficient problem resolution. Knowledge and experience in the use of commercial software for Civil and/or Mechanical Design. Level Expert in MS Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
We offer a permanent contract. The schedule is Monday to Thursday from 08:30 to 18:00, and Friday from 08:30 to 15:00. Intensive workday in August. Intensive workday on all days before public holidays. Possibility of working remotely. Compensation package based on the value of the candidate's profile, value contribution, knowledge, years of experience, and skills.
