Senior Scala Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scala Developer to join our Digital Team in Madrid, Sevilla, Córdoba, Jaén, or Granada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance Scala applications using functional programming principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable Scala applications using functional programming principles.
  • Integrate Scala solutions with other platforms and develop APIs for data/service integration.
  • Use Scala frameworks like Spark to optimize application performance.
  • Stay updated on the latest Scala libraries and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with QA to create and manage unit/functional tests.
  • Create and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Support migration of product to Cloud using AWS, Azure, and Docker.

Requirements:

  • Scala Spark and AWS Cloud experience.
  • Strong Development and Operations skills with experience in IT Systems.
  • Good shell scripting languages skills.
  • Strong communications skills to deliver clear solutions to both senior and junior colleagues.
  • Technical Skills: Apigee, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Terraform, GCP/AWS Technologies, GitHub, Docker, Linux, Java, AWS Cloud, Scala Sparks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Data modelling experience.
  • Knowledge/experience with SQL for Hadoop/Big Data environments.
  • Knowledge/experience with SQL for Postgres/DB2/Relational databases.
