About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, UX Architecture to join our team at Dow Jones. As a key member of our Technology Group, you will be responsible for setting the direction and standards for quality experience across our B2B portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive UX Architecture: Combine industry best practices, methodologies, metrics, and analytics to drive UX architecture across all publishing platforms.
  2. Lead a Team: Manage and lead a team of UX architects, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure team success in delivering high-quality solutions.
  3. Conceptualize and Deliver Projects: Take a hands-on role in driving the conceptualization and delivery of Factiva projects, from creating conceptual sketches to user flows to wireframes and functional specs.
  4. Champion Design-Centered Product Enhancements: Prioritize design-centered and data-informed product enhancements to drive business growth.
  5. Evangelize Modular Design: Champion the importance of modular design, create interaction patterns in our design system, and help drive adoption.
  6. Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with peers to create holistic, reusable solutions and help set standards for process, communication, and documentation.
  7. Meet with Stakeholders: Meet with stakeholders and upper management/leadership to get input and communicate strategies and solutions.
  8. Coordinate with Product and Engineering: Coordinate and meet regularly with Product, Delivery, and Engineering to collaborate on timelines and resource management.
  9. Manage Team Workload: Manage the workload of your team and provide regular updates on projects, team status, and resourcing.
  10. Contribute to UX Strategy: Collaborate with Product on how UX contributes to achieving business objectives and ensure solutions support specific business goals.
  11. Collaborate with Customer Insights: Collaborate with our Customer Insights team to create test materials, hypotheses, and criteria, and incorporate recommendations and analysis into the UX process.
  12. Work with Researchers: Work with researchers to understand customer needs and define opportunities through usability testing and empathy studies and analyzing data trends.
  13. Ensure Accessibility: Collaborate with the Accessibility lead to ensure we meet standards for accessibility and include it in our process.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  2. Minimum 10 Years of Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in CX or UX, spanning strategy, research, and design.
  3. Leadership Experience: 3+ years in previous leadership roles and can effectively oversee the quality and efficacy of our digital team's work.
  4. Strong Grasp of UI, HCI, and UX Principles: A strong grasp of UI, HCI, and UX principles.
  5. Fluency in Best Practices: Fluency in best practices for mobile, web-based, and responsive design.
  6. Experience in Information Architecture: Experience in information architecture, user and screen flows, information design, conceptual and detailed wireframing, and prototyping tools.
  7. Experience in Large-Scale Publishing: Experience working with large-scale publishing and CMS environments.
  8. Experience in Design Systems: Experience working with Design Systems, in creating and reusing components.
  9. Agile Environment: Experience working in an Agile environment.
  10. Proficiency in G-Suite Products: Strong proficiency with G-suite products and experience with professional collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Airtable.
  11. Expertise in Prototyping Tools: Expertise with Figma, Miro, and other prototyping and design tools.
  12. Strong Portfolio: A strong portfolio that demonstrates your experience and UX skills showcased in several case studies as well as clear examples of products that rely on metadata for informational organization, navigation, and user pathing.
  13. Great Communication Skills: Great communication skills and presentation skills including the ability to speak to the specifics and benefits of the user-centered design process.
