**Job Summary**

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all production lines assigned to them. This role will oversee the management of production personnel, ensuring that plant and company goals and objectives are met.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Safety and Environmental Performance:**
    • Communicate expectations to production personnel
    • Conduct regular audits and investigations to identify and document incidents
    • Lead safety meetings and authorize work permits
    • Participate in the plant safety committee
  • **Production:**
    • Determine production requirements and assign personnel to each line
    • Monitor production operations, including run rates, changeovers, and line cleans
    • Coordinate with maintenance, lab, and warehouse personnel to meet production expectations
    • Troubleshoot process issues and determine the appropriate course of action to resolve
    • Develop and revise operating procedures
  • **Quality:**
    • Review finished goods laboratory test results
    • Review in-process test results
    • Determine process changes to be made
    • Solicit input from technical support as needed
    • Participate in on-site customer audits and ISO audits
  • **Staffing:**
    • Participate in plant staffing activities, including interviewing and selection
    • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and ensure performance reviews are conducted for all operations personnel
    • Recommend wage increases and promotions
    • Identify and prioritize personnel developmental needs
  • **Maintenance:**
    • Support the Avient Reliability Program by coordinating shift maintenance activities
    • Ensure work orders are written and entered into the system for scheduling
    • Schedule line downtime as required for proactive maintenance
  • **Systems:**
    • Learns and uses all appropriate systems, including SAP, IQS, LRM, CCS, CAID Charts, E-time, Ariba on Demand, and Microsoft Office applications
  • **Financial:**
    • Understand and manage financial performance from a cost to manufacture standpoint for lines assigned to them
  • **Lean Six Sigma:**
    • Drive Lean Six Sigma events to improve overall performance for assigned lines

**Requirements:**

  • Must have a strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production management
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with production personnel and other stakeholders
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
