**About the Role**
We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to join our team at Empresa reconocida. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing directional leadership, high-level customer interface, financial risk management, cost control, and continuous service innovation within our Freight Forwarding business.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Leadership: Implement and monitor site budgets in line with Products (Air/Ocean), providing regular reviews and reports to the Managing Director on individual department performance.
- Business Planning: Help design, recommend, and implement the annual business plan and continually monitor and report to the Managing Director on relative performance.
- Project Management: Manage projects/implementations: delivering budget initiatives & onboarding/supporting new Business Wins.
Product Leadership
- Operational Interface: Act as a key operational interface between Empresa reconocida, Business Development, products, and clients. Maintaining effective customer satisfaction and communication programmes to support continued development aiding retention and growth.
Operational Excellence
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and maintain a continuous improvement programme across all departments, together with a plan for growth and maximization of profit margins (Air/Ocean).
- Performance Monitoring: Develop a Dashboard to measure and improve, ensuring failure to achieve is addressed effectively with the Barcelona Operations Team.
- Target Achievement: Actively monitor and proactively manage achievement against Operation/Financial targets and key performance indicators.
- Operational Productivity: Identify improvements in operational productivity & service performance across all operations. Formulate controlled plan to drive branch continuous improvement community.
- Customer Service: Ensure that customer service and excellence is demonstrated within all Operations, devising a clear set of standards, continually reviewing and addressing training needs where required (internal/external). Providing regular updates.
- Compliance: Responsible for the Management/Compliance of ISO, AEO, and SCA within respective branches.
- Customs Regulations: Ensure compliance with Customs regulations and ensure all branch audits are completed.
- Policies and Procedures: Ensure all branch operations are fully compliant with Empresa reconocida policies and procedures such as Code of Conduct.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Team Development: Identify and develop the teams at each Branch to ensure that they have the relevant skills, knowledge, and motivation to contribute effectively as to maximize productivity and profit.
- Employee Engagement: Drive higher Employee Engagement across all sites/departments by ensuring HR operational standards are achieved during Employee Lifecycle eg; Induction/Training & Career Development/ Performance & Attendance Management.
- Recruitment: Cooperate with the HR department to recruit new employees for own team.
- Onboarding: Responsible for the onboarding and training of new team members.
- Performance Management: Sets and evaluates performance targets for each subordinate.
- Appraisal Interviews: Conducts appraisal interviews with subordinates, according to company rules.
- Compliance: Responsible for the compliance of department ́s employees with the company rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Computer Skills: Computer basic knowledge: MS Office.
- Operational Systems: Know-how in operational systems (Alfresco, Jasper, SPOT).
- ADR Training: ADR trained.
- Language: English language (business fluent).
- Established Network: Established partner network.
- Economic Geographical Skills: Superior economic geographical skills.
- Operational Knowledge: Knowledge of operational processes.
- Market Connection: Close connection to the market (Sales, Purchase, Partners).
- Driving License: Valid driving license for passenger car.
