Job Summary

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join the Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Research Group. As a key member of the team, you will provide scientific support to the research activities of the group, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles and nanosystems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the synthesis of micro- and nanoparticles, including inorganic and organic materials
  • Support researchers in projects related to 3D printing and nanotechnology
  • Maintain and operate analytical and characterization tools, including equipment based on your skills and expertise
  • Prepare and characterize samples using microscopy techniques such as SEM and TEM
  • Organize and manage lab equipment and supplies, coordinating with other technicians and the Group Leader
  • Train new users on equipment and lab procedures
  • Manage the on-boarding and check-out of group members
  • Coordinate with researchers, distributors, and other IBEC departments
  • Ensure lab safety and compliance with regulations

Requirements

  • Master's degree in chemistry, nanoscience, nanotechnology, nanomaterials, chemistry biomedical engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization techniques, including DLS, Z-potential, and spectroscopy
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of English proficiency
