About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Threat Research Engineer to join our team. As a Threat Research Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and reproducing threats, as well as identifying potential strategies to mitigate them. You will work closely with our engineering team to improve our product and ensure that we can protect against cutting-edge tactics and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Track attacker activity on our platform and work with partners to disrupt attackers when possible.
- Produce and share thought leadership around attacker trends and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
- Identify opportunities for threat protection product innovation, particularly in areas that provide better visibility, more accurate detection, or more robust preventative measures.
- Work with our product and engineering teams to incorporate innovations into our product.
- Produce high-quality thought leadership content, including blog posts and reports about attacker trends and TTPs.
- Present research at top-tier security conferences and publish research in top-tier security publications.
Requirements
- Expertise in web and network security, with experience in threat hunting and analyzing large-scale cybersecurity datasets.
- Experience with common threat intelligence tools, such as VirusTotal, and the ability to create POCs of threats in a controlled environment.
- Strong software development skills to develop your own tooling as needed, with a discipline to create well-tested and documented code.
- Experience working with common database and search technologies, such as SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience interacting with cybersecurity leadership in large organizations.
- Experience working collaboratively with other groups to resolve security incidents.
- Experience responding to security incidents and/or triaging alerts and incidents at scale.
