Mechanical Engineer Mechanical Integration

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Alstom, where we design and manufacture innovative transportation systems. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in managing Computer-Aided Designer (CAD) activities and deliverables in one Mechanical Domain on a project, ensuring compliance with Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) commitments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and pilot Mechanical Domain activities of assigned zones and related deliverables on a project, taking into account applicable instructions, processes, and customer requirements.
  • Manage production of deliverables in accordance with Planning targets on Mechanical Domain assigned zones.
  • Perform 3D, design annotations, and 2D deliverables in compliance with QCD commitments, Metier rules, and processes.
  • Design products considering project requirements, such as performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc.
  • Respect and/or allocate requirements and mechanical interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipments.
  • Model and store allocated volumes and interfaces for sub-systems/components in Digital Mock-Up.
  • Prepare and document Mechanical Domain Design Reviews according to project schedule and follow-up main open actions.
  • Perform Detailed Design on internal sub-systems.
  • Check respect of Allocated volumes/interfaces (no-clashes) on internal design.
  • Filling-up attributes for each part in Digital Mock-Up (naming, material, Fire & Smoke, etc.).
  • Verify consistency of digital mock-up (no clash, etc.) and compliance with requirements (allocated volumes, weight, interfaces, etc.) on assigned scope.
  • Prepare and document Mechanical Domain Design Reviews.
  • Update Digital Mock-Up taking into account Change Requests.
  • Check CADs' and sub-contractor's Design Quality.
  • Realize stack-up analysis.
  • Realize Bill of Material.
  • Resolve Project Mechanical issues in assigned zone.
  • Report on Mechanical Domain activities progress and alert relevant N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting achievement of QCD commitments.
  • Contribute to performing quotation of engineering work package, upon request.
  • Define Project Mechanical Decomposition (PBS).
  • Support Sourcing, Industrialization, and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up.
  • Collaborate within the Train Design team for continuous improvement of the Domain (including RoE).

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • 2 years of experience in Railway industry.
  • Mastering Knowledge of CATIA-V5 and 3Dcom/Enovia.
