Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Destinus, a pioneering aerospace technology company. As a key member of our RD engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative aerospace components and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead design projects for aerospace components and systems from conceptual phase to manufacturing, integration, and testing.
  • Generate 3D CAD models, drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other related documentation required for manufacturing, integration, and testing.
  • Deliver technical documentation, including engineering calculations, analysis, and assumptions, to substantiate design decisions and solutions.
  • Manage suppliers and manufacturers, addressing technical questions and resolving issues during the manufacturing process.
  • Select standard parts, fasteners, equipment, and consumables following best practices and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • BSc, MSc in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Technician qualifications with substantial experience would also be considered.
  • 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace industry.
Desirable Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes: machining, sheet metal forming, composites, and additive manufacturing.
  • Excellent CAD and PLM knowledge: Part design, DWGs, DMU management.
  • Good engineering material properties knowledge.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and analytical skills: dimensioning calculations, load path definitions, basic stress calculations, energy, and power.
  • Seal and fastener design knowledge.
  • Auxiliary component selection – general electro/mechanical components.
  • ISO GDT knowledge required.
  • Fluent in English as working language. Spanish language is beneficial.
