Accountancy:
The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing financial transactions, recording them into the financial software, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and preparing financial reports. The role reports into the Head of Finance and is a member of the school team.

Tax:
The Financial Controller will record and reconcile taxes into the financial software (VAT, Withholding tax, SII report and Social Security). They will process month-end and year-end accounting, ensuring month-end deadlines are met and financial statements are accurately stated. The role will also coordinate the information flow with schools to secure supplier information is received in time and through official channels.

Expenses Tracking:
The Financial Controller will monitor and record personal and company expenses, ensuring proper documentation. They will manage the Capex module through the financial software and reconciliation within the accountancy. The role will perform general ledger reconciliations and account analysis, support the preparation of monthly financial reports and assist with the audit, providing necessary documentation and explanations. The Financial Controller will also support financial budgeting and forecasting, and perform ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as required by the role.

Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Controller will build strong working relationships with the School Finance Team, AR School Team, Regional Finance Team, Schools Administrative and SLT teams. They will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, under Spanish GAAP and IFRS GAAP. The role will also manage accounts payable, coordinate the purchase ordering process for the school, review and propose supplier invoices payments, perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. The Financial Controller will record and reconcile taxes into the financial software, process month-end and year-end accounting, and ensure financial statements are accurately stated. Requirements:
The Financial Controller will be a Professional Qualified Accountant with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. They will have excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and prior experience in using the NetSuite/PBCS applications or any other ERP systems would be advantageous. The role requires the ability to build good working relationships with all members and levels of the organization, a methodical, highly organized approach to the execution of assigned tasks and responsibilities, and a positive, proactive, passionate, personable, results-oriented, ambitious professional who is keen to progress within a global organization. The Financial Controller will also have strong organizational, time-management skills and an ability to deal with shifting priorities, and the ability to handle confidential information with maturity and discretion. They will have the capacity to take initiative and solve problems, supported by the Head of Finance. The role requires fluency in written and spoken Spanish, and English language skills are an advantage. The Financial Controller will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. They will work closely with the Head of Finance and other members of the school team to ensure the smooth operation of the financial function and the achievement of the school's financial objectives.
