Este es un rol de liderazgo en ingeniería para liderar el reboot de la solución de gestión de sistemas Landscape para Ubuntu. Ubuntu está creciendo rápidamente en el entorno empresarial, con dominios que se están expandiendo desde la nube hasta servidores de metal desnudo, a través de clústeres vSphere y, por supuesto, escritorios y dispositivos. Ubuntu es fácil de desplegar y configurar, nodo a nodo, pero es difícil saber dónde se encuentra en términos de políticas y conformidad, gestión de parches o control de acceso en una gran propiedad. Comenzamos a trabajar en Landscape hace muchos años y la generación actual del servicio refleja las opciones del día. Ahora tenemos la oportunidad de invertir significativamente en un equipo para traer una visión fresca y nueva para la gestión de propiedades de Ubuntu a gran escala al proyecto. Esto no significa que sea una oportunidad greenfield - tenemos un sistema que sirve a miles de despliegues - pero sabemos que queremos dar un nuevo impulso a esta área, dejando ir algunas cosas que ya no son tan importantes y adoptando una serie de prioridades nuevas. Este rol es el liderazgo en ingeniería crítico para esa misión. Los directores de ingeniería en Canonical combinan habilidades técnicas y de gestión para liderar a sus equipos. Trabajará estrechamente con gerentes de productos y producirá un plan de ingeniería con metas ambiciosas y alcanzables. Un aplicante exitoso será capaz de cultivar a un equipo de ingenieros, colaborar con otros equipos de ingeniería y negocios en Canonical y proporcionar informes periódicos sobre los logros y áreas de mejora. Como director de ingeniería en Canonical, debe ser técnicamente fuerte, pero su responsabilidad es dirigir un equipo eficaz y desarrollar a los colegas que dirige. Se espera que ayude a que crezcan como ingenieros, hagan trabajo importante, lo hagan excelente, encuentren satisfacción profesional y personal, y trabajen bien con colegas y comunidad. La experiencia de liderazgo técnico y un fondo en ingeniería de software son requisitos previos necesarios para este rol. Dirigirá, desafiará y desarrollará a ingenieros fuertes, influirá positivamente en la cultura, facilitará la entrega técnica y trabajará con su equipo en estrategia y ejecución. Trabajamos en Python y Golang, y esperamos que los directores de ingeniería sean fluidos en el lenguaje, arquitectura y componentes utilizados por su equipo. Las revisiones de código y la lideranza arquitectónica forman parte del trabajo. Como administrador, el compromiso con prácticas de ingeniería saludables, documentación, calidad y optimización de rendimiento son igualmente importantes responsabilidades técnicas, así como la exigencia de gestión clara y justa y la obligación de asegurar un equipo altamente desempeñado.

Salario

Rol de Ingeniero Senior

El rol de ingeniero senior consiste en liderar a un equipo de ingenieros en la diseño y desarrollo de soluciones de software complejas. El ingeniero senior será responsable de garantizar que los proyectos sean entregados a tiempo, dentro del presupuesto y de alta calidad.
