About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Developer with expertise in.Net and Python to join our team at Verisk. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based applications using AWS services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Middleware Solutions
    • Contribute to the development of middleware solutions using Python, AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and.NET Core to ensure scalability and efficiency.
  • Cloud-Based Web Applications
    • Develop cloud-based web applications for the insurance industry, focusing on architecture, network setup, site layout, user interface, database design, workflows, graphics, and testing.
  • AWS Services
    • Proficiency in AWS services like Lambda, EC2, S3, and IAM for deploying and managing applications.
  • Programming Skills
    • Excellent programming skills in Python with the ability to develop, maintain, and debug Python-based applications.
  • Database Management
    • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
  • Application Development
    • Develop, maintain, and debug applications using.NET Core, C#/Java, and Python.
  • Industry Trends
    • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to PostgreSQL, AWS, and Python.
  • Risk Management
    • Design and implement risk management business functionality and in-database analytics.
  • Complex Data Problems
    • Identify complex data problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and design and implement solutions.
  • REST API
    • Develop REST API.
  • Web Application Development
    • Design and develop functional and responsive web applications by collaborating with other engineers in the Agile team.
  • Performance Tuning
    • Proficiency in performance tuning and troubleshooting within middleware environments.
  • RDBMS Concepts
    • Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts in middleware contexts.
  • Object-Oriented Programming
    • Expertise in object-oriented programming.
  • Collaboration
    • Collaborate effectively with project stakeholders outside of Dev. group, especially with Product Management on feature requirements and project schedules.
Requirements
  • Commercial-Grade Software Development
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in development of commercial-grade software products.
  • AWS Technologies
    • 3+ years of experience with AWS technologies (AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, S3).
  • .NET Core and Python
    • 3+ years of proven experience in developing and supporting applications using.NET Core, C#, and Python.
  • AWS Services and Infrastructure
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience with a strong understanding of AWS services and infrastructure, deploying and managing applications on AWS.
  • Angular/React
    • Experience with Angular/React is a plus.
  • Agile Processes
    • Strong understanding of Agile processes and best practices.
  • Latest Technologies and Trends
    • Knowledge of the latest technologies and trends.
  • Business Requirements
    • Ability to develop use cases for business requirements.
  • Communication Skills
    • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills
    • Enthusiasm, energy, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Fast Learning
    • Fast learner, keen to learn, and ensure software adherence to established architecture, design, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
  • Education
    • B.S. in Math, EE, CS or Software Engineering; M.S preferred.
