About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Computational Scientist/ Spatial Biology to join our team at Biostars. As a key member of our research team, you will work closely with our bioinformaticians, epidemiologists, and basic research scientists to conduct genome-wide discovery studies and targeted regional approaches to identify the determinants of various forms of cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our bioinformaticians to develop and apply sophisticated computational methods for analyzing large-scale genomic and transcriptomic data.
  • Work with our epidemiologists and basic research scientists to design and implement studies to identify the genetic and environmental determinants of cancer.
  • Develop and apply machine learning algorithms for image-based analysis of cancer tissues and histology.
  • Contribute to the development of new approaches to cancer prevention and treatment through our contributions to the molecular, genetic, and epidemiologic research of our team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application to genomic and transcriptomic data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
