R&D Verification Engineer II

At Ansys, we are seeking a highly skilled R&D Verification Engineer II to join our Mechanical Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting software testing of ANSYS applications, such as LS-DYNA, to ensure that our products meet customer needs and satisfy product requirements and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Specify and write test cases, create, modify, and update existing tests, write and maintain test scripts
- Perform functional, application, regression, and performance testing in manual and/or automated test environments and investigate possible causes of problems
- Create test plans, participate in defect management, and testing metrics
- Apply standard techniques and procedures and comply with the company's overall development and testing processes
- Work in a variety of computing environments: Linux, Windows, Virtual, Compute Clusters, Cloud
- Tests products at all levels: Workflow, Unit, Application, Performance
- Works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical support specialists on product issues
- Coordinates with other teams to address cross-team dependencies
- BS in mechanical or civil or structural engineering with 2 years of experience, or MS with no experience
- Strong knowledge of structural, and computational mechanics
- Experience and/or academic exposure with FEA and CAE tools with knowledge of FE methods
- Proficient in one or more programming or scripting languages: Python, C++, C#, Jscript, Perl
- Technical knowledge and experience with explicit dynamics, structural dynamics, and numerical methods is desired
- Experience in a large-scale commercial software testing and verification environment
- PhD degree will be considered
- Strong programming skills is highly desirable
- Experience with ANSYS structural mechanics products, LS-DYNA, AUTODYN, Explicit would be a clear advantage
- Experience with both LINUX and Windows platforms preferred
- Competent in the use of general office software applications such as mail tools, document editors, spreadsheets, and databases
- A thorough and careful approach to work; close attention to details and quality; strong organizational skills
- Ability to establish good working relationships with Development, Testing, and Support staff
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language
- Able to troubleshoot by simplifying complex systems, debugging, and finding root causes
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
