Your New Role: A Challenging and Future-Oriented OpportunityAs a System Engineer - Hybrid Locomotive Electrification Specialist, you will be part of our engineering team responsible for developing globally successful rail vehicles. You will work on international locomotive projects in Europe, Asia, and North America, designing, specifying, and technically clarifying the traction system for our hybrid-electric locomotives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and specification of the traction system, including transformer, converter, traction motor, auxiliaries, and traction battery
- Implementation of customer requirements and design of components
- Focus on components and system integration required for alternative propulsion, such as traction batteries and converters
- Technical interfaces management, including electric drive technology, operation management, and control, as well as mechanical integration
- Participation in all relevant project phases, from concept to bid preparation, technical implementation, testing, delivery, and warranty
- Market trend analysis and guidance of suppliers during the development of drive components
- Cost and deadline tracking, as well as individual responsibility for fields of activity
- Support for testing of components in the lab and on the vehicle, as well as the homologation process and root cause analysis (RCA) in case of failure
