Job Summary:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment, including flightline and heavy construction assets, to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and repair military, industrial, and commercial designed base maintenance, material handling, special purpose, general purpose vehicles.
  • Determine general condition of Government vehicles and perform Limited Technical Inspections (LTIs).
  • Diagnose unusual noises, road test and operate vehicles to test components.
  • Remove, disassemble, repair and replace components, assemblies, and subassemblies, and reinstall as required to maintain vehicles in safe operating conditions.
  • Perform functional tests and repairs on water and fuel pumping systems, cable and hydraulic lifting equipment, forklifts, towing equipment, gasoline, and diesel-powered engines.
  • Make operational adjustments on drag brakes, relief valves, operating chains, lift cylinders, clutches, transmissions, brakes, and engine components.
  • Perform lubrication, oil and filter changes on Government fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform minor corrosion control repairs detected during safety, scheduled, and unscheduled inspections.
  • Perform collateral duties associated with vehicle maintenance practices to include administrative processes i.e., vehicle work order and parts request forms.

Requirements:

  • Must be certified as a vehicle mechanic and mechanical systems.
  • Must have a host nation or equivalent driver's permit.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English at a basic level 1 (B1).
