About the Role

Vestas is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our team in the Offshore Service Support & Special Projects department. As an HSE Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety within the Special Projects Main Component Exchange.
  • Guide, support, and collaborate with the operational management team to identify and mitigate potential risks, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and have a proactive approach to HSE.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate comprehensive HSE policies and procedures in alignment with local and national regulations and identify potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct HSE training programs for employees at all levels and ensure that employees are aware of HSE guidelines and best practices.
  • Lead investigations of reported incidents, accidents, near misses, and hazardous observations and prepare detailed reports on incidents with recommended corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies and maintain necessary permits and certifications and develop and implement emergency response plans and drills.
  • Guide, assist, and support the operational management in their safety performance and assess compliance and identify areas for improvement and work with management to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • HSE coordinator with a 5+ years of experience (a background in Service and construction industry will also be considered).
  • Knowledge of UK legislation with the foundations to work as an HSE officer.
  • Operates and thinks at higher professional/academic level with preference for a technical background in Naval, Mechanical, Construction, or Offshore Engineering.
  • Good English knowledge (written and spoken).

  • Proven (extensive) experience in HSE discipline within construction, offshore, maritime, or process industry.
  • Proven organization-sensitive, persistent, and conceptual thinker in combination with a hands-on mentality.
  • Effective communication skills and structured or systematic approach.
  • Proactive and make things happen.
  • Experience in implementing and enforcing HSE policies, processes, and instructions.
  • Experience in the on/offshore wind industry or in the energy sector, part of a multicultural environment is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in heavy lifting is preferred - LOLER Competent Person level/Appointed Person Lifting Operation is an advantage.
