Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying and responding to attacks targeting our customers on the Okta platform. You will develop dashboards and detection logic to identify known patterns of attack and automate tasks to enable efficient validation and notification of security-relevant events to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Attack Identification and Response: Identify and respond to attacks targeting customers on the Okta platform through detailed analysis of Okta's product telemetry.
- Dashboard Development: Develop dashboards and detection logic to identify known patterns of attack that may succeed should customers not implement best practice security controls.
- Task Automation: Automate and orchestrate tasks to enable efficient validation and notification of security-relevant events to our customers.
- Security Best Practices: Develop and maintain security best practices that put Okta's security features to use and enable customer-facing teams to better communicate how these controls mitigate real-world attacks.
- Feature Gaps Identification: Identify gaps in Okta's security features or secure by default settings that enable attackers to exploit our customers and collaborate with Okta's product teams to design and implement additional controls.
- Machine Learning Model Validation: Work closely with Okta's data scientists to test and train new machine learning models by validating real-world data and providing known good and bad datasets.
- Cyber Threat Research Collaboration: Collaborate with Okta's Cyber Threat Research team to share details of threat actor activity and prioritize analytics based on the current cyber threat landscape as it applies to Okta's customers.
- Strong Security Background: You have a strong background in security, with experience in identity and access management, security, or data analytics projects.
- Technical Skills: You have strong technical skills, including knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and experience with technologies and protocols to support identity federation and robust access control models.
- Collaboration and Communication: You are an excellent collaborator and communicator, with experience working on complex technology stacks and following through to ensure long-term solutions are effectively deployed.
