Global Transportation Procurement Strategist

The Global Category Manager – Transportation role is a key position within Indirect Procurement, responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives globally.

Transportation encompasses various categories, including Road, Rail, Ocean Freight, and Air. This cross-functional role interacts with Supply Chain and other functions across the business.

This position leads procurement efforts in creating and driving key initiatives to bring a future procurement vision to life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute global category strategies for Transportation categories to achieve optimal sourcing results.
• Manage costs and drive savings through should-cost models, cost reductions, and value creation.
• Lead contractual discussions with suppliers for managed categories.
• Align strategies and targets with Regional Leads.
• Presentation of Transportation strategies annually.
• Drive state-of-the-art global sourcing initiatives and ensure quality of regional initiatives.
• Maintain proactive communication with internal stakeholders.
• Develop supplier relationships with strategic suppliers.
• Establish risk management strategies.
• Evaluate compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Transportation sourcing/procurement.
• 25% international travel expected.
• Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain, engineering, or related fields.
• MBA preferred.
• Proficiency in e-sourcing/procurement systems.
• Experience in spend analysis, contract development, and execution.
• Ability to develop best practice sourcing methodology and category strategies.
• Excellent social and communication skills.
• English language skills at business level (written and spoken).

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is around $120,000, depending on location and experience.
