**Job Summary**

As a Field Service Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Represent the company in a professional manner, interacting with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver service excellence.
  • Travel frequently throughout Spain and Portugal, and occasionally to other countries in EMEA, to provide on-site service and support.
  • Own and deliver service commitments, including installations, repairs, data analysis, calibrations, preventative maintenance, training, and radiation services on X-Ray fluorescence Spectrometers and optical emission spectrometers.
  • Provide services remotely or on-site, setting accurate priorities and meeting customer expectations.
  • Conduct service reporting, documentation, and create protocols to specification on internal and customer needs.
  • Maintain a high level of customer allegiance by building strong relationships and promoting an excellent customer experience.
  • Partner with commercial colleagues to deliver customer deals that meet/exceed customer expectations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through our Practical Process Improvement Business System.

**Requirements:**

  • Diploma or equivalent education in electrical engineering, chemistry, engineering, or technical training in the field of electronics or chemical field with technical orientation.
  • Five years of work experience in technical services, with field service experience or strong service knowledge.
  • Knowledge of heavy industrial processes (metallurgy, mining, geology and geochemistry, petroleum, polymers, glass, etc.).
  • Outstanding fixing skills, passionate about electromechanical, software, and application issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
  • Ability to work efficiently with customers and colleagues in difficult and stressful situations.
  • Good knowledge of electronics and mechanics.
  • Customer friendliness and a professional demeanor.
  • PC literacy, including MS Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% (up to 4 nights per week at hotel).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Self-organized and effective.
