Postdoctoral Researcher in Synchrotron Science

The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the ALBA Synchrotron Light Source. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will play a key role in supporting users, collaborating with colleagues, and developing your own scientific program in one of ALBA's focus areas.
Key Responsibilities- Provide user support to public and proprietary users, including performing Local Contact duties.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the beamline and contribute to the upgrade of the beamline within the ALBA II context.
- Engage with other groups of the Experiments Division and ALBA to find synergies between programs and develop new opportunities for the facility.
- Develop your own scientific program in one of ALBA's focus areas, including energy materials and catalysis, using X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques (XAS/XRD) in combination with other capabilities available at ALBA.
- Engage in projects and collaborations of the transversal research program of the section at internal, national, and European levels.
- Hold a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or a similar discipline.
- Have a strong background in X-ray spectroscopy and diffraction techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
