We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Synchrotron Science. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in the field of energy materials and catalysis, using X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques (XAS/XRD) in combination with other capabilities available at ALBA.
Key Responsibilities- Provide user support to public and proprietary users, including performing Local Contact duties.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the beamline and contribute to the upgrade of the beamline within the ALBA II context.
- Engage with other groups of the Experiments Division and ALBA to find synergies between programs and develop new opportunities for the facility.
- Develop your own scientific program in one of ALBA's focus areas, including energy materials and catalysis.
- Engage in projects and collaborations of the transversal research program of the section at internal, national, and European levels.
- Hold a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or a similar discipline.
- Have a strong background in X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques (XAS/XRD).
- Have a publication record in a scientific field like catalysis, energy storage, or environmental sciences with strong emphasis on XAS/XRD results.
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Have experience working at multiple synchrotron light facilities.
The selection process will be carried out through the competition-opposition system. The assessment of the CV will be scored up to 40 points, considering the following aspects:
- Scientific and technical experience in XAS and XRD techniques.
- Publication record in a scientific field like catalysis, energy storage, or environmental sciences with strong emphasis on XAS/XRD results.
The best-rated candidates will be invited to an interview, where their technical competence, knowledge, skills, and professional experience linked to the position will be assessed.
