Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AI Engineering Manager to lead and grow our AI group, currently composed of two squads. The successful candidate will optimize team productivity, foster personal development, and drive AI strategy and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to understand business goals, customer needs, and market trends.
- Lead critical technical projects and initiatives pivotal to the company's success.
- Manage budgets for AI squads and control running costs while ensuring operational excellence.
- Manage budgets and tools to leverage AI internally within the company.
- Cultivate a data-driven decision-making environment, establish and monitor quality indicators and measurements to uphold product quality, and drive continuous improvement across AI engineering teams.
- Support the team in executing the company's AI-driven product roadmap, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of top-notch features and improvements.
- Utilize prompt engineering and chaining techniques skills to optimize and enhance system performance.
- Enhance our LLMOps infrastructure to establish a robust feedback loop with precise metrics, ensuring continuous optimization of each use case.
- Suggest improvements to our RAG in production to continually improve its metrics.
- Maximize team performance by leading and developing a strong AI team through clear expectations, regular feedback, coaching, and career development plans.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building, leading, and scaling development teams.
- At least one year of experience leading a team with Data Scientist/ML engineers.
- Previous experience with Generative AI and RAG.
- Agile mindset in software development and experience managing agile teams and educating teams about agile principles and methodologies (e.g., SCRUM or Kanban).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Extensive development experience that includes experience with Python.
- Positive, committed, with a 'can-do' attitude and a flexible approach.
