Commercial and PPA Manager

R.Power, a leading player in the European solar energy market, is seeking a highly skilled Commercial and PPA Manager to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned professional to secure offtake for our solar projects, including origination, negotiation, and execution of physical and virtual PPA contracts. The successful candidate will also be responsible for optimizing the monetization of our assets and examining sales structures available on the energy wholesale market.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement an offtake strategy considering available routes to market, including medium- and long-term PPA with utility and corporate off-takers, governmental PV auctions, and merchant structures.
  2. Work with internal teams to create solutions that optimize funding opportunities and enable project development.
  3. Gather market insight, structure new business transactions, and network with energy off-takers and business partners.
  4. Actively identify and approach energy investment-grade off-takers interested in PV energy supply.
  5. Structure PPA deals in terms of key commercial terms, settlement mechanics, and guarantee structures.
  6. Manage cooperation with external business and legal advisors, as well as cooperate with internal legal teams.
  7. Report PPA performance and actively support asset management or financial function related to PPA settlement and revenue management.
  8. Be involved in solving and delivering PPA compliance issues.
  9. Present findings to the management team.
  10. Support development of energy storage projects, including interaction with PPAs or other routes to market.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong competencies in power market, including in-depth understanding of energy trading and/or utilities PPA/cPPA origination for renewables projects.
  • A successful track record at managing project and business development at power and/or renewables.
  • Experience in working with privately-owned enterprises as well as international environments, preferably at multinational utilities or advisory businesses.
  • Fitness to dynamic organizational culture, hands-on, and implementation orientation.
  • The ability to independently manage projects and deliver results.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, and the confidence to both liaise with energy off-takers and collaborate across R.Power.
