We are seeking an experienced Art Director to join our team at Scopely, a leading mobile game developer and publisher. As an Art Director, you will be responsible for leading the creative vision and direction of our Monopoly GO game, ensuring that all artistic elements are of exceptional quality and align with the game's vision.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Senior Art Director to ensure consistent creative material and high-quality art direction.
- Support the brand through creative designs and unique experiences.
- Lead creative brainstorms to identify innovative solutions and direction.
- Set clear art direction for various features and content, working with art disciplines to deliver excellent art.
- Establish and drive an art culture that engages talent, maximizes team potential, and encourages proactive cross-discipline collaboration.
- Manage the art team's performance, goals, and training needs.
- Contribute to studio-level planning for the product team.
- Partner with art producers to drive the art team's production process.
- Oversee the art team's health, including team morale, training, and resourcing needs.
- Identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement within the creative process.
- Lead inter-department communications related to art and support external art requirements.
- Facilitate collaboration across multiple art disciplines, including 2D, UI, 3D, Anim, and VFX.
- Experience in managing a large group of artists and shipping at least one title as an Art Lead or Associate AD.
- Experience in developing social games on mobile platforms, with a preference for casual space.
- Art style that demonstrates a good understanding of whimsical art style.
- Highly skilled at providing clear direction, guidance, and mentoring tailored to the skill level of team members.
- An eye for detail and expert-level art judgment.
- Proven flexibility, motivation, and approachability.
- Deep understanding of how game art/visual design supports gameplay, UX, narrative, and brand positioning/marketing.
- Familiarity with game pipelines and their restrictions.
