Clean Energy Infra Debt Finance Portfolio Manager

Nuveen, the investment management arm of TIAA, is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Clean Energy Infra Debt Finance Manager. As a key member of our asset management team, you will work closely with the investment team to ensure the effective management of asset portfolios.

Role Overview

The Clean Energy Infra Debt Finance Manager will be responsible for a broad range of activities, including proactive risk and financial management of the asset portfolios, coordination of external advisors, internal and external reporting, and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial services, risk management, and portfolio management, with experience in asset-backed securities, structured finance, and credit funds.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitoring the risk of the portfolio over time, including undertaking financial risk assessments, financial model updates, and sensitivity analysis with re-forecasting as necessary.
  2. Oversight of regular reporting received from securitisation vehicles/servicers and performance assessment of the asset and underlying loan portfolios.
  3. Oversight and direction of legal counsel on ad-hoc project matters, such as default recovery.
  4. Coordination of cash management with a focus on protecting value for the assets and generating a maximum long-term return for our investors.
  5. Development and management of asset operating models.
  6. Management of regular deliverables to internal stakeholders, including asset reporting packs, financial return projections, risk assessments, and other ad-hoc deliverables.
  7. Coordination of delegated financial and commercial representatives (external servicers, legal counsel, administrators).
  8. Support fund management activities, such as cash flow forecasting, quarterly and annual investor reporting, and investor queries related to the asset portfolio.
  9. Reviewing and developing governance and risk management frameworks for portfolio management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in financial services, risk management, or portfolio management.
  • Experience in asset-backed securities, structured finance, and credit funds is required.
  • Experience in investment/portfolio risk management, project finance documentation, and interaction is desirable.
  • Financial control experience in fund management or corporate is desirable.
  • Relevant experience or interest in the power industry or sustainability is desirable.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required, with additional European languages desirable.
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK or Spain/EU-27.
  • A strong academic background is required, demonstrated by an excellent degree.
  • CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CFA qualifications are desirable.
