We are seeking a skilled Middle Distillates Trader to join our team at Cepsa. As a key member of our trading team, you will be responsible for navigating the dynamic Diesel/Gasoil and Jet markets, identifying opportunities for growth, and making informed trading decisions that align with our organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in active trading and portfolio management within Middle Distillates markets, focusing on maintaining profitability while adhering to established risk parameters.
- Develop and implement trading strategies and manage pricing exposures based on market intelligence.
- Engage in trading financial derivatives for hedging purposes and to optimize asset optionality, as well as for proprietary trading.
- Identify and act upon new market opportunities and business expansion, leveraging market insights and relationships to cultivate new ventures.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of market risks and exposure to make well-informed trading decisions in line with organizational goals.
- Adjust and optimize trading strategies in response to market fluctuations, operational challenges, and supply disruptions.
- Share market intelligence and tactical approaches, contributing to the collective knowledge and strategic direction of the trading team.
- Maintain and develop relationships with key customers and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- A minimum of a few years of experience in commercial negotiations for storage, pipeline, transportation, and commodity contracts.
- A proven track record of successful trading results.
- Comfort with financial derivatives, experience in trading regional arbitrage with diverse derivative instruments and freight, and an understanding of refining economics.
- Fluency in English is essential, and additional language skills, such as Spanish, are advantageous.
- Ability to work under significant pressure, demonstrating high resilience and availability.
