About the Role

Amazon is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our Data Center Innovation Finance team. As a key business partner to the Design Engineering, Innovation, and Controls teams, you will provide financial recommendations on electrical and mechanical innovations that should be included in the next generation of data center designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop ad-hoc business analysis and present recommendations to AWS senior management around design changes introduced to Colocation facilities and the DC capital improvement process.
  • Manage the financial planning and analysis effort and forecast various metrics for financial risks and opportunities.
  • Report on the financial performance and lead in the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial review.
  • Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes and controls to support the fast-growing, global AWS business.
About the Team

The Data Center Innovation Finance team is made up of subject matter experts for specific engineering or generational design fields that partner with the business to optimize the design of our DCs. As such, the team is known for having vast knowledge around engineering decisions that ultimately allows AWS to offer competitive prices to our customers.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience.
  • 5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
  • 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, or CPA.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience.
  • 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience.
  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
