Engineering Assistant Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Assistant Manager to join our team at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and economic operation of our facilities, providing exceptional service to our guests, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and oversee the building's mechanical equipment and engineering staff
- Manage engineering operations and coordinate with senior managers to ensure seamless hotel operations
- Provide exceptional service to guests, responding promptly and efficiently to their needs and complaints
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Represent the engineering manager in their absence, communicating effectively with ownership, corporate executive leadership, contractors, and other department heads
- Drive initiatives for energy efficiency and sustainability, performing maintenance checks and logging results properly
- Attend daily operations meetings and direct supervise engineering crews
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of all workspaces, shops, and storage areas
- College diploma in electrical/mechanical engineering and/or building management or advanced technical vocational training
- Technical knowledge of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration systems, fire main systems, sprinklers, water/waste treatment, or hydraulics
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively and possess good problem-solving, administrative, and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills and experience in a hotel in a similar role (minimum 2+ years)
- Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
