The Director of Software Engineering plays a pivotal role in guiding internal and external software engineers, driving the direction of software development efforts and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
This hands-on leadership position supports software engineers in troubleshooting, code reviews, and technical discussions while fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and executing software engineering strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Elevate software development processes to ensure consistent, cost-effective delivery of high-quality products across both internal and external engineering teams.
- Maintain adherence to corporate security policies and guidelines, including PCI compliance, to ensure secure technical solutions.
- Collaborate with the Information Security team to conduct thorough Security Risk Assessments and Privacy Risk Assessments.
- Lead the development of scalable, high-performance multi-platform software systems leveraging internal and external resources.
- Select and manage third-party technology vendors and tools for billing and administration purposes.
- Communicate change effectively and set priorities for the team.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record of extensive software engineering expertise.
- Considerable experience in technology leadership, guiding high-performing teams in agile environments.
- Ability to create and execute technical roadmaps aligned with long-term business goals.
- Proficiency in software development methodologies, tools, and technologies, including object-oriented programming, cloud services, CI/CD, AWS, Python, Elasticsearch, React, PWA, and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Excellent communication skills, oral, written, and presentation, with fluency in English.
Your Background:
- Prior experience as a software engineer, with a strong portfolio of achievements.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, collaborating with product management, design, and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with industry-leading software development methodologies and tools.
- Achieved success in managing software development projects, from initiation to delivery.
- Demonstrated expertise in software architecture, system design, and scalability.
