Job Description:

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Geospatial Innovation and Product Development Engineer to join our team at Airbus Defence and Space SAS. As a key member of our Geospatial Solutions team, you will collaborate with our R&D team to develop new processing, analytics, and services for OneAtlas, our customer library, and improve and automate imagery mapping processes.

About the Role:

You will work in a startup spirit mode, be passionate about satellite imagery, Earth Observation, Machine Learning, mathematics, and computer science. You should be open to new cloud technologies such as machine learning, analytics, big data, and have a focus on developing new 3D technologies. As most of the image processing will be based on machine learning techniques, you should be experienced in developing deep learning technologies for Earth Observation.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the R&D team to develop new processing, analytics, and services for OneAtlas
  • Improve and automate imagery mapping processes
  • Support the HAPS team and participate in the development of new 3D technologies
  • Identify and define synergies with partners and develop end applications for customers
  • Integrate the Earth Observation ground system to end customer systems and infrastructure

Requirements:

  • An engineering degree in Electronics/Telecom/Aerospace
  • At least 1 year of experience in systems engineering and/or Geospatial fields
  • Familiarity with Deep Learning environments (Python, Jupyter, OpenCV, GitLab, Keras, PyTorch) and the Google Cloud Platform (Compute, AppEngine, Docker, CloudML)
  • Knowledge in image processing and Earth Observation is a plus
  • Remote sensing, mathematical modeling, statistics, and development (DevOps) are desirable
  • Excellent communication skills in order to interact with support teams and internal or external clients/partners
  • A strong customer orientation with good listening skills and the search for innovative solutions is an important aspect of the job
  • A negotiation level of English is required
  • Catalan, French, or German are a plus
  • Capable of dealing with unexpected situations
