Job Title: Maintenance Engineer - Calibration Specialist

At Alk Abello Spa, we are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer - Calibration Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for supporting engineering activities related to the implementation of the CMMS system and improving the maintenance area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the calibration system, ensuring compliance with the annual calibration plan.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and schedule their work according to the production plan.
  • Propose improvements to the calibration system and report KPIs for calibrations.
  • Work on the CMMS system (Blue Mountain) for calibrations and support the Maintenance department.
  • Support the Maintenance department with preventive maintenance systems and collaborate with the Project department on new projects, especially those related to instruments and calibrations.
  • Author, review, revise, or approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deviations or change controls as required.
  • Stay current on developments in the field of Calibration and ALK Standards.
  • Work effectively with managers to execute the organization's policies and goals.
  • Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, and materials.
  • Recommend improvements and desirable modifications in methods, procedures, processes, equipment, and layout.
  • Interface with users, peers, and management to ensure appropriate input and integration of local and corporate standards.
  • Participate in site Operational Excellence initiatives and cross-functional teams addressing specific problems, facilitating discussion and research, and enabling procedures to become more efficient.
  • Adhere to all ALK safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for Manufacturing and Packaging equipment, utilities, and systems.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical), or other technical degrees (physics, mathematics, etc.).
  • 3 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry or similar industries (food and micro components).
  • Experience with Pharmaceutical Maintenance and calibration practices.
  • Good software usage skills.
  • Root cause analysis knowledge.
  • Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Demonstrated time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Functional knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and lean maintenance methodologies.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and related software applications.
