Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Food Scientist to join our team at the Basque Culinary Center. As a key member of our research and development department, you will be responsible for conducting physicochemical and microbiological tests to support innovation processes in the gastronomic sector.

About the Role

Your primary mission will be to prepare samples, assays, analyses, and tests to ensure accurate and reliable results. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop new products, formulations, and technological developments related to the food industry.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conducting physicochemical and microbiological tests to evaluate raw materials, by-products, and finished products
  • Developing standard work protocols (SOPs) and participating in their optimization and validation
  • Managing laboratory test results while maintaining traceability and inventory management
  • Participating in the development and validation of analytical methods
  • Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the laboratory
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Laboratory Analysis and Quality Control, Industrial Chemistry, or Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory
  • Previous professional experience in performing physicochemical and instrumental and/or microbiological tests
  • Knowledge of quality standards, good laboratory practices (GLP), and safety and hygiene standards
  • Proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a team
