Job Summary
The Head of Procurement, Global Tail Spend is a leadership position responsible for overseeing, optimizing and executing the tail spend strategies within GPO (Global Procurement Organization). This role is pivotal in ensuring that procurement operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives for managing tail spend, streamlining and automating procurement processes to reduce costs.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse, global team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture and driving process design and execution initiatives to future-proof the function.
- Drive tail spend catalogue efficiencies at scale.
- Engage and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., finance, operations, IT, suppliers, industry experts) to ensure procurement strategies support overall business objectives.
- Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement process and shared services, analyze data, benchmark against industry best practices and report on performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure procurement processes and shared services remain competitive and effective.
- Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and prepare and present reports to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Experience in team management.
- Experience in supply chain.
- Experience working with, presenting to, and influencing senior executives up to VP level.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization, MBA.
