Head of Procurement, Global Tail Spend, GPO

The Head of Procurement, Global Tail Spend is a leadership position responsible for overseeing, optimizing and executing the tail spend strategies within Amazon's Global Procurement Organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring that procurement operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Strategic Initiatives: Develop and implement strategic initiatives for managing tail spend, streamlining and automating procurement processes to reduce costs.
- Lead and Develop a Global Team: Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse, global team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture and driving process design and execution initiatives to future-proof the function.
- Drive Tail Spend Catalogue Efficiencies: Drive tail spend catalogue efficiencies at scale.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Engage and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., finance, operations, IT, suppliers, industry experts) to ensure procurement strategies support overall business objectives.
- Define and Measure KPIs: Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement process and shared services, analyze data, benchmark against industry best practices and report on performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage the Procurement Budget: Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the procurement processes and shared services remain competitive and effective.
- Use Data-Driven Insights: Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and prepare & present reports to senior leadership.
- Team Management Experience: Experience in team management.
- Supply Chain Experience: Experience in supply chain.
- Senior Executive Experience: Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level.
- Process Implementation Experience: Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization.
- MBA: MBA.
- Program Requirements Experience: Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements.
