About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Provenance Engineer to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a key member of our Data and Diagnostics Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the data we produce is FAIR and reproducible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the integration of provenance information in autosubmit, a workflow management system.
  • Identify and propagate main provenance pieces in Earth Sciences workflows.
  • Enrich existing ontologies for Earth Sciences to improve data interoperability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Physics, or a related field.
  • Excellent computing skills in Python and experience with UNIX/LINUX environments and scripting languages.
  • Provenance packages and ontologies knowledge.
  • Fluency in English, both speaking and writing.
Desirable Skills
  • Ability to interact and build strong relations with climate and computer scientists.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to take initiatives, prioritize tasks, and work under deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Capacity to learn and adapt to multiple programming languages easily.
