Job SummaryWe're seeking an exceptional Head of Engineering to lead our Product Development team. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for shaping the creation of a game-changing product that can save lives. You'll work closely with our Leadership team to drive the company's vision forward and collaborate with product, clinical, and regulatory experts to understand business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Design and manage large-scale data systems and event-driven cloud technologies.
- Collaborate with experts to translate business needs into feature requirements.
- Define internal services and data models to support business and R&D processes.
- Document solutions and automate pipelines.
- Design microservice architecture and implement it.
- Develop data pipelines to support applications, deployments, and integration projects.
- Manage and resolve bugs within the development cycle.
- Implement agile software best practices, including release management and code review.
- Lead the Product Development team and foster a healthy, high-performing environment.
- Mentor and inspire team members to grow and succeed.
- Take ownership of significant parts of our service delivered to customers.
- Stay aligned with the broader business strategy and contribute to domains outside your immediate team scope.
- Graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering.
- Solid understanding of software engineering processes and a drive to create a strong engineering culture.
- 7+ years of software development and information management experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with Python, Javascript, and other languages.
- Previous experience leading engineering projects end-to-end.
- Ability to succeed with deadlines, OKRs, and ambitious goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Strong business acumen and ability to identify opportunities to enhance revenue and/or reduce costs.
- Knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies and operationalizing IT processes across the company.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, Cassandra, and Neo4J.
- Well-documented code and experience using traceability tools like GitHub or GitLab.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning methodologies using Google Cloud and AWS.
- Consistently works strategically to achieve organizational alignment on significant goals.
