Job Title: Propellant Chemist

Rheinmetall Expal Munitions is seeking a highly skilled Propellant Chemist to join their team in Madrid. As a key member of the propulsion systems department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing propellant formulations for rocket motors and base bleed propellants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and transfer propellant and liner technology from external organizations
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing department during series production
  • Design formulations, manage document changes, and solve technical problems
  • Develop new propellant and liner formulations within quality, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Develop documentation for production plants and expand technical know-how base
  • Participate in design reviews and technical project meetings
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or Polymer Science
  • At least 3 years' experience in a chemical manufacturing company, preferably in an explosive environment
  • Experience in formulating composite rocket propellants is highly recommended
  • Understanding of risks associated with explosives and propellants
