Job Title: Head of Legal

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Head of Legal to lead our legal team in the Spanish and Portuguese markets. As our go-to person for all legal matters, you will ensure that the business is operating within the law while balancing our innovation goals.

About the Role:

As Head of Legal, you will be responsible for:

  • Legal Strategy: Develop and implement our legal strategy to support business growth while protecting the company from risk.
  • Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including SaaS and other tech agreements, commercial agreements, partnership deals, vendor contracts, and licensing agreements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data privacy, and other industry-specific laws.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks related to our products, services, and operations.
  • Corporate Governance: Provide legal advice on corporate governance, including board matters, corporate policies, and equity structuring.
  • Leadership: Oversee and manage the legal department, including in-house counsel and external legal resources as needed.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the management team, sales, and other departments to align legal advice with the company's goals.

Requirements:

  • Legal Expertise: 5+ years of experience in a legal role, ideally with a focus on technology, software development, or healthcare.
  • Privacy knowledge: Solid knowledge and practical experience in data protection related matters is a must.
  • Healthcare Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations is a plus.
  • Commercial Savvy: You're comfortable advising on business transactions and have a strong understanding of contract law and commercial agreements.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading legal teams or departments, and a track record of advising senior leadership on complex legal matters.
  • Communication Skills: You can translate legal jargon into plain language and provide practical advice that non-legal teams can easily understand.
  • Problem-Solver: You're a proactive thinker who can anticipate legal issues and offer creative, business-friendly solutions.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Strong collaboration and international project management skills are essential.
  • Languages: Spanish and English are a MUST. Portuguese is a PLUS.
