Product Engineering Manager

Job Summary:
Clarios is seeking an experienced Product Engineering Manager to lead the design and development of low voltage battery products. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of application engineers and assuming the role of principal technical interface with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, and improve low voltage battery design and components to meet customer specifications and cost reduction targets.
- Predict battery design performance and ongoing compliance using computer modeling tools.
- Responsible for small projects and engineering project tasks, including planning, organizing, directing, and controlling activities.
- Document and present new designs and change proposals for design review evaluation.
- Design validation builds, testing, and product documentation.
- Coordinate product testing execution to fulfill validation plans.
- Preparation and support of risk analysis (FMEA) for new or changed designs.
- Cooperation with regional and global Clarios facilities.
- Support quality initiatives to assure product performance.
- Presentation of serial product modifications to customers, including documentation of OE requirements necessary to release the change.
- Support of RFIs and RFQs by providing technical information.
- Manage day-to-day general technical questions from customers.
- Organize, lead, document, and follow up on customer communication about Clarios product line roadmaps.
Requirements:
- BS or equivalent in chemistry, physics, engineering, or related technical field. MS preferred.
- Solid years of engineering experience or equivalent.
- Profound understanding of low voltage battery design and function.
- Profound understanding of the fundamentals of all low voltage battery manufacturing processes.
- Broad battery knowledge across technologies.
- Profound experience in automotive OE customer development processes.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Experience in engineering management or leadership role is preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to think analytically and to promote teamwork and cross-functional alignment.
- Fluent business English and Spanish, further languages preferred.
