Job Overview
The Head of Manufacturing Engineering & Process Development plays a pivotal role in driving the successful launch of medical device products from prototype to market. This involves scaling assembly processes and influencing device design to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM). The role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to define a competitive manufacturing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
- Develop and implement process strategies to move products from development stages to mass manufacturing, adhering to lean six sigma methodology.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define and execute manufacturing plans.
- Develop and maintain expertise in engineering technologies, including fixture design, material handling, bonding technologies, QC methods, application methods, packaging, and advanced assembly technologies.
- Resource, delegate, and monitor technical work to satisfy project objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent preferred. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience industrializing production lines in an ISO 13485 regulated environment.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
