About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure Instrumentation team in Europe. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining instrumentation agents and integrations for a wide range of products, including Kafka and MySQL.

Our team is passionate about simplifying observability for engineers, leveraging open source frameworks like OpenTelemetry. We encourage collaboration, autonomy, and continuous learning in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain Rust and Go clients/projects as well as their support tools.
  • Contribute to Open Source projects, growing your reputation and skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss and implement service improvements, researching new tools and services to solve complex problems.
  • Ship incrementally and often, maintaining a constant flow of feedback on work.
  • Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach, participating in second-layer support rotations.
Requirements
  • At least three years of experience with a passion for open source software, Linux systems, software architectures, and Rust programming.
  • Autonomy, cross-functionality, and agility in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality software.
  • Self-motivation, quick learning, accountability, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration with colleagues in important decisions and shared code ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing instrumentation products.
  • Experience on different Unix OSes and Windows.
  • Upstream contributions to relevant Open Source projects (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, etc.).
