About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and collaborative Project Manager to join our team at the Josep Carreras Institute (IJC). As a key member of our Grants Office, you will be responsible for the management of the research and training network NUCLEAR (MSCA-DN) and support the Project Coordinator Marcus Buschbeck.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all management aspects related to the project, including preparation and execution of meetings, agendas, and minutes, recruitment processes, and assisting the Project Coordinator in daily coordinating activities.
  • Organize and administer all training activities, both virtual and in-person, to be organized within the framework of the project, including travel and accommodation/catering arrangements as needed.
  • Manage the reporting obligations of the consortium.
  • Financial and legal follow-up of the project (including budget control) and reporting to the European Commission (REA).
  • Set up and implementation of quality procedures, including risk management and feedback processes.
  • Coordinate and document the communication and dissemination activities of the network in collaboration with the Communications Units of each beneficiary.
Requirements
  • You hold a master's degree in Life Sciences. Having a PhD will be highly valued, as well as previous research experience and interest in metabolism, cancer, and epigenetics.
  • Interest to participate in the scientific supervision of one of the PhD students will be positively evaluated.
  • You have experience in project management, ideally in European projects MSCA of the Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe framework programmes.
  • You are a highly organized person, collaborative, and communicative.
  • You have capacities in problem-solving, prioritization, and autonomous time and workflow management.
  • You have a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English as this will be the working language of the network. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan will be a plus.
  • You are proficient in working with MS Office suite tools, have experience in or willingness to learn content management systems (CMS); experience using databases will be positively valued.
What We Offer
  • A temporary contract of initially 54 months, extendable subjected to additional funding.
  • This is a full-time position for 39 hours per week (part-time is negotiable).
  • Start date: 1st of November 2024.
  • A salary that commensurates with your qualifications.
  • Access to the international network of Buschbeck lab and participation in the labs' scientific discussions (depending on the profiles of the candidate).
