About the Role

Sun Chemical, a leading producer of packaging and graphic solutions, color and display technologies, functional products, electronic materials, and products for the automotive and healthcare industries, is seeking a Project Manager to join its EMEA Engineering & Maintenance Department in Badalona. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all projects and tasks assigned by the organization, from the design phase until commissioning and start-up, following the company's standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design technical solutions for studies/projects assigned, including P&IDs and layouts, in coordination with the Engineering Manager, regional Operations, and EH&S departments.
  • Validate the technical feasibility of proposed solutions and estimate their economic cost.
  • Request quotations to vendors and contractors, comparing proposals on a technical and economical level to choose the optimal solution.
  • Justify and request investments for approved projects.
  • Process purchase orders for approved projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate external contractors involved in approved projects.
  • Prepare, coordinate, witness, supervise, and document the commissioning and start-up of approved projects.
  • Control the budget assigned for each project and ensure that established timelines and deadlines are met.
  • Manage project documentation, including O&M manuals, procedures, certifications, and other relevant documents.
  • Provide support for in-plant installations and important customer requests.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum of 10 years of working experience managing projects in the chemical industry or similar.
  • Experience in a painting/inks/adhesives manufacturing industry would be a plus.
  • Good communication skills in English, Spanish, and French.
  • Availability to travel.
