About the Role

This position is part of the Service Operations team at ABB, reporting directly to the Service Manager. As a Traction Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for executing service work with low to medium complexity, adhering to ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of equipment and routine maintenance independently.
  • Identify technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activity in Traction Service.
  • Consult with and advise customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing specialist support and solutions.
  • International travel will be required, as the role will require hands-on support at customer sites.
Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical / Power Electronics engineer or CFGS in similar fields.
  • +3 years of experience working as Field Service Engineer, with knowledge in measurement technology in the field of power electronics (voltage range up to 4kV) and with IGBT converter technology.
  • Medium-high level of English.
  • Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing of Drives, Traction, or Wind Power Converters.
  • Independent, structured, and initiative way of working.
