About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Technician with expertise in immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) to join our team at the Centre De Regulació Genòmica (Crg). The selected candidate will be responsible for working with our partner hospital to collect samples, process them for either IHC or IF, perform image acquisition, and optimize the image acquisition and data analysis pipeline.
About the Lab
Our laboratory specializes in high-throughput image analysis, subcellular proteomics, transcriptomics, genetic screening, bioinformatics, and cell and molecular biology techniques. We are a group of about 10 people from different cultures and countries, and we are part of the genome biology department at the CRG.
Our Research Focus
We aim to understand why metabolic enzymes localize to the nuclear environment and participate in specific chromatin functions. To achieve this, we need a highly skilled Research Technician with expertise in IHC and IF to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect samples from our partner hospital and process them for either IHC or IF
- Perform image acquisition and optimize the image acquisition and data analysis pipeline
- Work with our team to analyze data and draw conclusions
Requirements
- More than 5 years of experience as a Research Technician
- Proven experience in tissue handling, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and image analysis
- Desirable but not required: experience with customizable image analysis pipelines, knowledge of cancer biology, particularly breast cancer, and experience with Western Blot, cell culture, qPCR, and other routine cellular and molecular biology techniques
Education and Training
- Certificate of Higher Education as a Research Technician or Bachelor's/Master's degree in biological sciences or a related field

- Proficient in English
