Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Technician to join our team at the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST). The successful candidate will have a strong background in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, with experience in sample preparation, image acquisition, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process samples for immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence
- Perform image acquisition and optimize image analysis pipelines
- Collaborate with our partner hospital to collect and process samples
- Contribute to the development of high-throughput image analysis pipelines
- More than 5 years of experience as a research technician
- Proven experience in tissue handling, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and image analysis
- Desirable but not required: experience with customizable image analysis pipelines, knowledge of cancer biology, and experience with Western Blot, cell culture, qPCR, and other cellular and molecular biology techniques
- Education and training: Certificate of Higher Education as a research technician or bachelor's/master's degree in biological sciences or a related field
- Languages: proficiency in English
- Competences: strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision, drive and commitment to produce high-quality experimental results, strong organizational skills, ability to work as part of a team, collegiality, and punctuality in delivering results
- Contract duration: technical and scientific activities contract with the estimated duration of 1 year and possible extension
- Estimated annual gross salary: salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales
- Target start date: either the 15th of October or 1st November (2024)
