We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at the Institute of Cosmos Sciences at the Universitat de Barcelona. The successful candidate will be part of the ERC-funded project CET-3PO, focusing on the study of the common envelope phase in massive binaries via observations of luminous red novae (LRNe) transients.
Key Responsibilities:- Support with target selection and observations
- Application for telescope time
- Development of data reduction pipelines
- Data reduction tasks for photometry, spectroscopy, and polarization data
- Multi-wavelength analysis using time-domain survey data for the transients of interest
- MSc in astronomy or related field
- Strong background in astrophysics and research experience
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Full-time work contract (37.5 hrs/week)
- Opportunity to participate in teaching activities for professional development
- Remuneration includes full benefits and limited research and travel allowance
- Grade point average of the academic transcripts from the applicant's bachelor's or master's degree studies

- Suitability for the tasks to be performed within the framework of the research project or research support position
